Ellie-5 days old

Ellie is now 5 days old, nearly 6! It's so hard to believe. This week has gone by so fast, yet also incredibly slow. The nights are long and the days seem similar to the one before. Ellie is growing so fast and is almost back to her birth weight. She is changing so much every day and looks different from when we brought her home. I've been trying to breastfeed and that has been difficult. Saturday night was the longest night ever. Ellie cried, no, screamed all night long. We didn't know what to do or what was wrong with her. Turns out, babies like to eat. Who would've thought? :) I wasn't producing anything for her to eat so she was so hungry. On Sunday we started supplementing with some formula and she as a different baby. She now eats, sleeps. and then hangs out and looks at us. She is absolutely perfect.We've been having so much fun with her when she's awake. She is bright eyed and so curious. Today her umbilical cord fell off and she had her first bath given by me and Dan. She loved just lying in the bath, getting all clean. Today was also her first time getting out of the house. We took a walk in her stroller and lulled her to sleep with the rumble of the cobblestones. Even though we are both tired, every day is an adventure and we love spending all moments with her!! My parents leave on Sunday so we'll see what life is like on our own for a week before Dan's mom comes. They've been such a huge help, taking feedings and watching her while we sleep during the morning. I'm so glad Ellie came when she did so that they've been able to spend more time with her.
